La Unión Deportiva Las Palmas ha conseguido el sábado 27 de mayo de 2023 su séptimo ascenso a Primera División desde su fundación el 22 de agosto de 1949. La temporada que viene, volverán a jugar en la élite del fútbol español seis temporadas después. El archipiélago ha estado festejando este logro ya que por fin un equipo canario ha conseguido ascender a primera división.
