Convenio con La Universidad de La Laguna

This year our school has signed up an agreement with the University of La Laguna to participate in a new university project.  A ULL student of the English Studies Department has done her practical training here. She has carried out different activities with our students of infant, primary and secondary school.  All the teaching staff involved in the project has kindly taken part helping and guiding the student to enhance her teaching abilities.

We have just renewed our agreement with the ULL to continue with this project the next school year.

Charla de Mr. Karl Mc Laughlin

Since last year we have been involved in a project meant to approach the English language to our students. We have thought that it could be a good idea to get to know the lives and experiences of native English speakers who live and work in our island. For that reason we have been receiving the visit of some native lectures who have kindly collaborated in our project.

Last 27th May our 3rd and 4th ESO students were delighted with the talk given by Mr. Karl Mc Laughlin from Northern Ireland.

Mr. Mc Laughlin spoke to our students about his large professional background and how the learning of foreign languages has facilitated him the way to reach his goals. Consequently, he encouraged our student to learn the English language as a way to pursue new horizons, considering the situation young people are undergoing nowadays and the future prospects in foreign countries.

At the end of the talk students even felt like asking the lecturer some questions, interacting and having a pleasant time.

St. Patrick's Day

Go mbeannai Dia duit
(May God Bless You)

May your home always be too small to hold all your friends.
God is good, but never dance in a small boat.
May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.
If you're enough lucky to be Irish...
You're lucky enough! My wild Irish rose
The sweetest flower that grows
You may search everywhere
But none can compare to my wild Irish rose
My wild Irish rose
The sweetest flower that grows
Someday for my sake she may let me take
A bloom from my wild Irish rose
'Tis better to buy a small bouquet
And give to your friend this very day,
Than a bushel of roses white and red
To lay on his coffin after he's dead.
For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way-
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.
Dance as if no one were watching,
Sing as if no one were listening,
And live every day as if it were your last.
